So, things just went from crazy to insane here. There is a lot going on this weekend with the launch of our updated time and format for theadvance and when you add all the rest of the projects on my plate, it's going to be nuts! Things are falling into place but they've pretty much been 12 to 14 hour days, everyday this week. Luckily, some is able to be done from home so that at least makes it feel less like a crazy work schedule and more like life. BUT, I'm committed to getting all my work done and tackling the house this weekend. Should be an interesting time. I currently have a video,...

Last week, like everyone it seems on the InterWeb, I got sucked into the vortex of Gizmodo's uncovering of the latest iPhone. As an avid iPhone user and one who is just coming up to upgrade season I was intrigued and took full advantage of what I thought was Apple's leak to see the new device. The more you read about the story though, the more it starts to taste bad. As it turns out, the iphone was basically stolen from a pub and then sold to the highest bidder.
So for me, the question becomes, when is it ever right to steal? Is this type of thing 'right' to do because millions of people...

So, I am hanging out in the beautiful town of Cobourg for the next few days, visiting Lindsey's parents and celebrating Hilda's birthday and mother's day. Lindsey drove down so she could get her tires changed here and we got to stop in Belleville! Here's the thing about Belleville. Every time I take the 401 and I have to go through Belleville I have to stop. I am compelled to stop. There's just something about Belleville that has this magical quality to it. Truth be told, it's a castle like experience. If you've ever been to Belleville you know what I'm talking about. It's Reid's...

Well, it's been a few days since my last post but a lot has been happening. I find myself falling into old patterns of non-blogging from before my trip to Europe and so hopefully this will be the beginning of renewed discipline. We had Fuel again tonight and I must admit that the last two weeks have been really awesome. This series, called Where The Wild Things Are, I believe, is giving our students the opportunity to have transformational experiences with the Holy Spirit. One of the things I've really enjoyed since coming back from Guinea is a renewed passion in my prayer life. I find...

So, over the last two weeks we have been doing a series called Godview. Last week I wrote that it was a great launch and this week was as good. I am personally enjoying this series a great deal and I think our students are getting a lot out of it too. I have really loved being able to talk about what we've been able to talk about. This week we hit on the idea that God doesn't exist to make us happy and he doesn't exist to help us be good. The theme seemed to connect with our students, as far as I can tell. I am really excited about our transition in a few weeks to our new time slot...

So, today was my first night back at theadvance after a month's hiatus. I can't believe it's been 4 weeks since I was last there! It was a great night. A bit full for me but nothing too crazy. I had my message done well in advance so having some last minute curve balls was easy to handle. I ended up leading worship and doing a 'fireside' chat as well. Matt Nazarenko did a great job at welcome and announcements, and was even funny! Ha ha.
We announced tonight our plans to move theadvance from 7pm to 4:30pm. So far, the response has been positive. A lot of people are seeing the potential...

So, while I was away in Guinea, I and many of my colleagues took a whole bunch of photos and took some video as well. I have finally uploaded all the photos and videos and you can access them all online! Videos can be found on vimeo.com and photos can be found at flickr.com. I will embed the videos here and the photos are all available on the right hand side of the home page.
