No Other Name
Today I had the privilege of hanging out with a bunch of junior high and high school students at a citywide event called no other name. I was asked to lead a workshop so of course, being a good alliance boy, I spoke on sanctification. I didn’t call it that but it’s generally what I spoke on.
Anyway, it was great to be there because, and I didn’t realize it at the time, there were a lot of people I knew there. Right now I am sitting in the workshop of my good friend Lyndon Jost and sitting beside Nathan Jost. Good friends for many years. Being here is reminding me a lot about the value of fellowship and community with fellow believers.
I’ve been reminded of that a lot lately. Things are changing. I am changing. God is renewing me big time. I know he does this all the time and I guess I am just thankful that even now at my age and stage of life he is still willing to speak and love and lead me.
Lyndon is speaking on non-conformist spirituality. A great title for a talk on Romans 12.
He looks like Shane Claiborne but is unashamedly Lyndon. Maybe I’ll get him to speak at theadvance sometime.
Well, it’s good Friday and the weekend is filled with family events, should be awesome.
